The Junior Band is made up of a selection of musical voices
from both the Wind and Percussion families including
Trumpets, Mellophones, Baritones, Sousaphones, Saxophones,
Snare Drums, Bass Drums, Marimbas, Xylophones and
accessories including Cymbals, Rain Sticks and Tambourines. |

Each year members of this main programme take part in
parades, galas, concerts and competition, performing
everything from traditional marches and swinging jazz
through to a 10 minute themed musical repertoire accompanied
by a fully choreographed visual show. |

Members are taught the value of hard work, dedication, team
work and striving for excellence, and although work
extremely hard throughout the year find personal benefit of
membership immense. Every year members travel far and wide
throughout the UK and Europe, and are given
once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that no other organisation
in North Yorkshire can offer. |

The band provides all instrumentation and tuition, and
membership costs just 67p per hour (£10 per month), compared
to private tuition of £10+ per hour. |
